Coverage Checker

How Our Business Mobile Coverage Checker Works

Choosing a business mobile network is not just about national coverage claims. What matters is how networks are likely to perform at the locations your business actually uses.

Business Telco's coverage checker is designed to compare EE, O2, Vodafone and Three by location, so businesses can make a more informed decision before ordering SIMs or moving numbers.

How the checker compares networks

Our checker looks at four practical coverage measures for each network:

  • Indoor voice
  • Outdoor voice
  • Indoor data
  • Outdoor data

Each measure is scored from 0 to 4, giving a total possible score out of 16 for each network at a given address.

This creates a simple way to compare networks side by side without reducing everything to a vague national coverage claim.

What the scores mean

A higher total score usually suggests a stronger overall fit for that location.

However, the total score is only part of the picture. Two networks can look similar overall but differ in the areas that matter most to your business, such as indoor data for office staff or outdoor voice for field-based teams.

That is why the detailed breakdown matters as much as the total.

Why results can vary within the same postcode

Coverage can vary across addresses within the same postcode.

That is why our checker does not rely on a single postcode-level assumption alone. Looking at address-level differences can give a more realistic view of likely performance across an office, depot, industrial estate or mixed-use location.

How tied scores are handled

Where total scores are tied, lower-cost networks are preferred in this order: Three, O2, Vodafone, EE.

This helps produce a practical winner when performance is similar, while still keeping the underlying score breakdown visible.

What this checker is useful for

Businesses typically use the checker when:

  • Reviewing a new SIM-only contract
  • Comparing network options before switching
  • Checking a depot, warehouse or office location
  • Assessing multi-site rollout risk
  • Understanding whether indoor performance may be weaker than outdoor performance

What the checker does not do

The checker is designed to support better decisions, not to guarantee live performance in every real-world condition.

Local building materials, handset choice, temporary congestion, and changing network conditions can all affect actual experience. The checker is best used as a practical comparison tool before deployment.
