Out of Bundle Charges

When your business mobile usage goes beyond what is included in your plan, additional per-use charges apply. These are known as out-of-bundle charges and they can add up quickly if left unchecked. Below you will find the charge tables for O2 and Vodafone, along with guidance for EE and Three.

Out-of-bundle rates can change. The O2 and Vodafone tables above reflect the charges published at the time of writing. Always check with your network or account manager for the latest pricing.

How to Reduce the Risk of Out-of-Bundle Spend

Unexpected charges can be avoided with a few practical steps. Here are some ways businesses can keep mobile costs under control.

Review your allowances regularly

Check that each user has enough minutes, texts and data for their actual usage patterns. Plans that looked right six months ago may no longer fit.

Set usage alerts and caps

Most networks allow you to set spending caps or usage notifications. These can flag when a user is approaching their limit before charges apply.

Check international and roaming use

International calls, texts and roaming are common sources of out-of-bundle charges. If staff travel or call overseas regularly, consider a plan that includes these.

Watch out for premium and non-geo numbers

Calls to 084, 087, 09 and 118 numbers carry access charges on top of the service provider's own fee. Restricting access to these numbers can help.

Monitor data usage

Out-of-bundle data charges — £4.00 per GB on O2 and £4.34 per GB on Vodafone — can add up. Ensure data-heavy users have appropriate plans.
