Overview
A screen for the things you check all day Scrolling through a long conversation or browsing photographs is part of using your phone every day. The OLED display combines ProMotion for smoother movement with an Always-On display. These are features you can enjoy on iPhone 17 without stepping up to Pro. A lighter phone to take with you If your phone travels everywhere with you, its weight matters between customer visits, on the school run and out for dinner. iPhone 17 is lighter than either Pro model, while sharing the smaller Pro's 6.3-inch screen size. A case adds weight and bulk, so compare the dimensions with your current phone as well as looking at the screen measurement. Photographs that go beyond the usual view Use the Main camera for everyday scenes, then switch to Ultra Wide when you want to fit more into the frame, such as a room or a view from a walking trail. Macro photography offers another way to capture small details. The 2x option takes a crop from the Main sensor rather than using a separate telephoto lens. It is a useful framing choice, while a Pro model's dedicated telephoto is worth considering if distant subjects feature regularly in your pictures. Make room for everyone in the picture The 18MP Centre Stage front camera lets you switch between portrait and landscape selfie framing without turning the phone. It can also keep you framed during supported video calls. That is handy when you move slightly during a conversation at your desk, or want to include someone beside you on a family call. Call features depend on the app you use. Storage for what you keep This handset has 256GB storage. Look at what occupies your current phone: downloaded entertainment, offline files and video can matter as much as your photo library. Software also takes up space, and the amount you need depends on what you keep. Apple also makes a 512GB version, but that is a different manufacturer option, not the capacity of this handset or a claim that it is available here. Is this the right iPhone for you? Choose iPhone 17 if you want smooth scrolling, flexible everyday photography and less carrying weight, without a specific need for Pro camera tools. Ordinary calls, messages and work email are not reasons on their own to choose Pro. Consider iPhone 17 Pro for its dedicated telephoto and advanced recording options, or Pro Max if you would rather have a larger screen and accept a bigger, heavier phone.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need a Pro model to get a 120Hz display?
No. iPhone 17 has ProMotion with an adaptive refresh rate up to 120Hz. It adjusts rather than running at the maximum all the time. Refresh rate affects how movement looks on the screen; it does not increase your internet speed.
Does this handset have 256GB or 512GB storage?
This handset has 256GB. Apple also makes a 512GB version, which is a different manufacturer option. Its mention here does not mean that capacity is fitted to this handset or available from this listing. Available space is lower than the stated capacity because software and other data also use storage.
Does the 2x camera option use a separate telephoto lens?
No. It uses a 12MP crop from the Main camera's sensor. Digital photo zoom goes further, up to 10x, but is different from both a dedicated optical lens and the optical-quality crop.
Can I change the framing of a selfie without turning the phone?
Yes. The Centre Stage front camera lets you switch between portrait and landscape selfie framing without rotating the handset. Supported video-call apps can also use Centre Stage to help keep you framed during the call.
Can I move photographs to a computer using USB-C?
Yes, using a suitable cable and compatible computer. iPhone 17 supports USB 2 data transfer up to 480Mb/s. A USB-C connector does not by itself guarantee a particular transfer speed; the phone, cable and connected equipment all matter.
